This scene evokes memories of canoe trips in the Canadian wilds for me, as we worked our way from one forest setting to another, with merely a lake or river in the way. In fact, it’s the scene I’m lucky enough to see from a window at home. I used three textures here: a rich, warm brown for the branches, an icy blue for the lake, and deep evergreen for the trees in the distance.
