A trip to the tulip fields near Mount Vernon, WA, on a rainy day. A little too wet and cold to feel like spring was here, but these blooms made up for it.
This set of images was one of my first successful passes with Lightroom. The organizing features helped me narrow in on the shots I liked best, and the crop overlay tool was crucial in finding the stronger compositions.
A few of these, cropped to 4×4 and mounted with encaustic to canvas, sold as a set at the Flying House Sale 2012.
