Big Plan, Small Details

It turns out, my big plan to get work done hinges on some very simple, critical steps — like titles. See, I can’t save out a file or make a web post unless I know what the title is. So, despite being so close to having new work to show you, I have just a few more details to take care of. Here are all the creative tasks I work on each year, to unfold a new body of work:

  • Take new photos, then  process and sort them. I’m already started on this for next year!
  • Create new colors, from the photos and other digital sources.
  • Compose new texturized detail images, by combining the photos and colors.
  • Hand-build new collages, this time intended as collagraph plates
  • Ink the collages and print them, then scan the results  to use as layers
  • Build larger works from the new texturized images, colors, scanned prints, and whatever else I find
  • Think up titles!
  • Release a set of large images, available as limited editions via custom orders.

Finally, I’m on the second-last step, just wondering what to call this new batch of compositions.  As soon as I come up with a few handfuls of titles, watch this space for the new pieces.

Chime in!
