I was adding just a few more colors to my texture palette for the year, when I had a sudden thought: what about the opposite color, through the magic of technology? I mean, why else would there be an Invert function in my software, and why didn’t I think of it sooner?!

I promptly loaded up each of the top 3 colors shown here, inverted each of their layers, and started messing around with how each layer interacted with its neighbors. The colors on the bottom row are the wonderful results. Don’t you just love it when the outcome is even close to what you imagined?

Now, knowing my warm palette, I just need to get brave enough to use these cool colors! Keep an eye out for what I come up with.
