WIP Wednesday: Week 45

I am feeling under the weather today, thanks to getting some shots yesterday, along with ingesting too much news.

Meetings & Making

As I mentioned last week, I worked on my experiments with house elements, making them more subtle.

The first 2 are altered; the 3rd is not. The first 2 are not necessarily better, but it was worth a try.

Then, I was hoping to have a quartet of collages to add another layer to, all at once. Sadly, not yet.

But the text from that LIFE magazine, plus some electronic diagrams, security envelopes, and manila pad gestures, all hang together well.

Up Next

I have been edging in a new direction, and I’ve gathered some thoughts that go with it. I’d like to think about how quiet voices are overlooked, and how I can portray that visually. As an introvert, I’ve experienced it often, unable to add my opinions in the heat of a lively discussion.

I had a go at this concept with my sketchbook, painting over some bright colours with a neutral.

Hmmm: not enough underneath, not enough covered up. Well, lots to experiment with here!

In another round, I tried various layer masks in Photoshop.

I like both of the new versions much better, and I have plenty of works in progress that didn’t quite make the bar previously, that I feel quite free to experiment with.

I am now in the mood to slash dark paint around some surfaces, once I get that last matching collage done. What’s on your plate, calling you into the art zone?
