This tree in the French countryside looks perfect on its own. As pleased as I was to capture it alone, I still wanted to add drama with the texture layers. The background is that elusive “light red” that is NOT meant to be pink. In this case, I think of it as a coral color, built up from flowers and leaves, canyons in Arizona, a sunset, and even part of an old piece of mine. The foreground, for the tree itself, I wanted a prototypical green, built from layers of leaves and plants in my yard.
