On a recent trip to Portland, I visited Annie Meyer‘s gallery, and was inspired by her artist’s statement.

My landscapes … are of specific places, but with minimal colors and shapes they are more emotional rather than factual in content. [They have] … evolved into what I consider an abstract sense of time and place

Exactly what I’m trying to do! Annie’s landscapes are peaceful, and her statement captures them well.
