A distant view, layered with texture and cloth, as if to echo the generations who’ve looked to a new land.

In terms of layers, this is one of my simpler pieces. I started with some worn concrete for texture, and added a gelatin monoprint for detail. Some crochet stitching is layered in next, isolated to just the land, and the final piece, establishing the horizon line, is a view of the left side of Lummi Island. Blending the final image with a Difference mode created the deep blue of the sky and sealed the look.
