Trees and maps and handmade warmth, to set a young man off on his path.
Let me set the scene with the focal image: a park at the base of Edinburgh castle. To that, I added segments from a scanned map of Quebec, some handknit texture on the bottom left, and a small picture of my grandfather, as if he was leaning against one of the trees. Do you see him? To finish off the piece, I added selections from my textured palette: a teal made from 5 images for the sky, and a final copper overlay created from 4 images, for warmth.
