Show: ICON at Lynn Hanson Gallery

So, doing anything special September 1st or 24th? How about coming down to Seattle to see me?

Digital collage, 13 layersI’m thrilled to announce that I’ve had this piece, Walkabout, accepted to Lynn Hanson Gallery‘s 4th annual ICON show, on display during September in Seattle’s Tashiro Kaplan building. It’s a detail piece from my 2016 portfolio image, compounded by straggling.

Lynn and her juror, Barbara Noonan, were looking for our interpretations of the word ICON; I realized that when I work on my detail images, the textures and layers I’m adding are to generalize and abstract the image to an iconic form. I’m so happy that they agree the work fits in, and I’m among a wide range of interpretations and excellent work.

Here are the details on seeing this show:

  • Opening exhibit, Thursday, September 1, 5–8 pm
  • Reception, Saturday, September 24, 5–7 pm
  • Location: Lynn Hanson Gallery, 312 S Washington St, Seattle
  • Open for viewing weekends, 12–5 pm, in September

I’d love to meet you down there — let me know what works for you.
