Show: Call of the Clouds

Interface: Digital collage © 2013 Liz Ruest

First show of 2016! I’ve had work accepted into Call of the Clouds, exhibiting this winter at Blakely Hall in the Issaquah Highlands.

I have long admired curator Megan Somerville’s pastels of dramatic skies, and was excited to submit this piece, Interface, for consideration. It uses clouds not only as imagery, but also as subtle masking for the layers of texture and color.

While I’ve had good feedback on the image, I’ve never rendered it large before. The show will be up mid-January through mid-March, and I’ll be at the opening reception. Come join me and see how it looks!

I really like Melissa Koch’s work and think you have some soulwork with her – she just infested our neighborhood with whole new species of butterflies
