Trip Report: Scotland

Scotland: a place I can’t get enough of, it seems. My previous visits, starting in 2011, have inspired many of my compositions. With the yearning for a fifth (!) trip building, I decided to  structure my stay as a self-directed art residency. Using Nairn as a base, and daily image and information gathering as my tasks, I collected ideas and themes for a body of work highly correlated to place.

Over 13 days, I covered almost 1600 miles, walked almost 40 miles, and took almost 500 images. For details on my process and itinerary, click here: Scotland: A Self-Directed Art Residency.

Next up, I’ll be working my newly gathered images into larger compositions. Because, if I don’t use them up, how will I justify yet another return trip?
