This long-simmering series has an update! These imaginary landscapes, originally conceived as fantasy book covers, also seemed to match our news over the last year or more, so adding pieces to it felt appropriate. The set of work, called Unstable Ground, has elements of foreboding as well as moments or colors of calm. As the news mist lifts, maybe we can focus on the calm parts now, small though they might be, and seemingly far off.
As with the first batch, these pieces have collage elements and texture mixed as digital layers, with a photograph or two to provide a focal point. Here are six new members of this set of ongoing work.
All of this work is now available to order. As newly-released digital images, none of the pieces have dimensions or prices yet. I wait to decide how big a piece will be, how large an edition, until I have a destination in mind for the image — a show I’m applying to, say, or maybe your wall? As decisions are made, I’ll update each piece: see the individual links, above, for current information.
