Where do we go to rest? A sea of soft pink harbours some impositions of browns and greens.
This is one of the most recent pieces, started in 2023. Its base is a collage from 2021, though, with a pronounced grid composition, making it a great candidate for the collection. What else got added to the mixture? Some Rectangle pieces add darker detail at the top left and bottom right, a crumpled deli paper print provides natural curves in the middle, and many texture and colour elements add over 20 layers all on their own. And yet, I love that I was able to simplify and quiet down the piece as a whole. More becomes less — soothing.
