The middle of a big project can be a muddle, can’t it? You’ve got to find your way through to the positive results.
I could easily be speaking about this project, but it’s not unique. I’ve been finding that many of my endeavours take longer these days, with complexity and unexpected issues requiring my patience.
This composition, started in 2022, used its analog origin, “mind of memories” as a base layer, turned on its side. A selection from my Rectangles project provides the top right pink hue, some rough painting and deli paper prints add texture. But the texture I’ve gotten questions about is in the original layer. Do you see that rough gridded stripe towards the top left? Just under the faintly visible Paris metro map section? That was an imprint from a flexible bandage wrap, saved after I donated blood. Oh yes, much like collage fodder, I save anything that might make a great texture imprint.
