Direct, honest communication doesn’t always cut it. Sometimes you have to add some layers of sweetness, as if icing a cake.

From the Pretty/Angry series
I don’t need pink to make something pretty — I’m easily satisfied with brown. Yet, there’s some pink in here along the way, including the bottom layer with has scrapings of pink paint, along with brown paper, blue collage elements, orange and pink scribbles, and uneven spackle. Perhaps less of a mess than some of the starting layers, but still — not pretty on its own. I overlaid other rather busy collages, slipped in a geometric diagram, and then topped everything with a pink-red texture combine and that perfect icing of a top layer, cream.
Availability
These pieces will be printed on demand, mounted to a foamcore backing, and then embossed and incised with additional marks to create a variable edition. The underlying digital work will be the same; each print will have unique marks.
