What do angry marks mean if they’re in pretty colours?

From the Pretty/Angry series
One of the lighter pieces in the series, this one took a lot of covering up. The base layer had deep magenta slashes, dark brown and black paint, and only a little spackle covering it up. I added some transparent layers from watercolour washes and texture, some details from paper collages, that fine detail from a geometry diagram, and then warmed it all up with some pink textured colours built last year.
Availability
These pieces will be printed on demand, mounted to a foamcore backing, and then embossed and incised with additional marks to create a variable edition. The underlying digital work will be the same; each print will have unique marks.
