Collage Conversations
At some point, late last fall, I took apart a pad of watercolour paper, and drew a line down the middle of each piece. I wanted to explore equal halves as a composition, and I realized soon enough that the halves represented two people in conversation.
|
|
Sometimes, people just don't see eye-to-eye, and that state of things seemed to suit a call for art at Collage-o-Rama: Confrontage. What is that, you ask? That's exactly what the call asked too, and I can't wait to see what came together. Three of my conversation halves will be on display in May, in a group exhibit where we all exploried the concept of what confrontage collage might look like. I'm delighted to join that larger conversation!

If you're around Seattle in May, I'll be hanging out at Slip Gallery in Belltown for the opening on Friday, May 8, and available for meetups through mid-month. On My Mind

It was a thrill to show my new work, Quiet Voices, at Lynn Hanson Gallery in March! I was pleased with how the work showed on the walls, and was glad to see so many visitors to First Thursday and the artist talks on Second Saturday.
|
Now that work has moved down the hall, where Lynn has a display area of work you can see on request. I've tucked away quite a few pieces of mine there, and it's time for a cleanout. If any of these works have caught your eye in the past, please get in touch with Lynn before I take them away.

And with the onset of Collage-o-Rama next month, it's time to think summer breezes and art meetups. Let me know if you want to cross paths in Seattle (through mid-May) or Vancouver (mid-May onward), or just meet up virtually. I'd love to keep in touch.
