Northern Retreat

The evolution of some work that was created while retreating from the pandemic.

What emerged during 2022, with the pandemic still hanging on, are these digital versions, unified from their origins, with layers of color and photography added to blend, and with titles from writings by a Canadian who loved the North, Farley Mowat.

While they bear some affinity with my Unstable Ground series, I’ve decided to treat them as their own project. For background, see A Winter Retreat. The series is now available as a small photo book directly from Blurb.com.

Base Elements

These physical pieces were created over several months in late 2020 and January 2021, as described here: Evaluating a Series.
