Pinks in the base, floral motifs on a tile, and a spring bloom on a branch all come together in this joyous botanical collage.
I started with a grid layout: I had collaged pinks and reds from monoprint experiments with text fragments for interest and tissue paper to tone it down a bit. (I’m normally not a fan of pink!) Atop that, I added more monoprinting in pink and green, and some overall texture composites in teal and terracotta.
Details to support the blossoming branch include a Skagit valley horizon, a seascape a bit further north, lichen, and some ornamental cabbage.
