Show: cARTography at ryan james

cARTography announcementThis spring, two pieces from my current body of work will be on display at ryan james fine arts in Kirkland — I am so pleased to be included in this show!

It’s curated by Dawn Laurant, who traces her fascination with maps to her background in archaeology. She accepted feast upon and all this will be yours from my 2014 portfolio.   Both of these pieces investigate place, through the use of specific locale images and textures, as well as actual map fragments.

cARTography: Personal Metaphors and Mindful Maps runs from April 1 to June 7, with an opening reception on Thursday, April 9. I’ll be there — can you join me?

Where: ryan james fine arts, 11905 124th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA
When: Thursday, April 9, 5-10 pm

If you haven’t visited before, let me set a bit of context: the gallery is just off 124th Ave NE, behind places like Laughs Comedy Spot and Chan’s restaurant. The gallery is right in between several wineries, who will also be open that night. It makes for a good party!
