Have you noticed I like open skies and horizons? Many of my handmade collages explore variations on the landscape composition; this particular base is no exception. I allude to the landscape with strips of text and stripes of bright blues & browns, and finished the sky with simple texture and chalk.
I also collect landscapes and horizons any time I can travel, so when I started adding digital layers, I had lots of international options. There are horizons from British Columbia and northern England, focal points from Glasgow and Chicago, and local texture too. The overall color was built from selective soft yellow areas, overall green watercolor washes, and terracotta marble texture, as counterpoints to the blues.
