The warm colors of this piece, along with references to mountains and fences, are saying Wild West to me — you too?
My base collage used watercolor washes to suggest sky, folded and wrinkled tissue paper to create texture, and strips of text stand in for fields: an overall landscape effect. So naturally, I overlaid photographs that fit: cracked clay, fencing, wildflowers and a farm horizon line.
Overall texture is supplied by a gray/green texture composite, another ochre composite built up from monoprints, my usual stone texture, and, as a twist, another whole collage, number 017, for some additional warming color.
