Do you have a place where you can escape to, even if it’s just in your mind? A kind of place that restores your calm, maybe a cabin in the hills or near water? That’s what this image brings to mind for me.
To a minimal, horizontal collage, which was finished with palette knife textures and pastels, I layered a soft gold texture composite, but inverted it to produce a soft blue. Ahh, the wonders of digital bit-flipping!
There’s a lot of general texture here, from oxidized copper, concrete, lichen, old stones, and even an oyster shell. The details to catch your eye include a line of fencing, and a Skagit valley horizon.
