Adapting New Horizons

I’m in a new city, looking at new horizons, and processing them as best I know how: in new compositions.

These days, my view is of Vancouver’s harbour, and its bright, busy cranes. As before, some of my works in progress lent themselves to an urban perspective, a series I started called Adaptive Horizons. So I sprinkled some stark outlines of the cranes on pieces that looked like they could accommodate such a structural focal point.

Since the pandemic lockdown, I’ve had a much greater appreciation for the complexity of world commerce, and the cranes are there, taking care of containers at all hours. Yet they’re silhouetted against green mountains and, on a good day, big sky.

These new pieces are each available as custom orders. If one of them speaks to you, please get in touch and together, we’ll figure out how a format and size that works for you.

For background, please read more about my original Adaptive Horizons series, a previous update in 2020, or see all images in the series.
