can summon fire

Ever been on your way to a new place, away from your normal haunts, with sketchy directions and no map or handy GPS? But you tough it out, end up having a great time with friends. This piece feels like the breadcrumbs you leave yourself as you turn onto the dirt road, still not even close, and the memories of that wonderful weekend in the woods.

Let’s see, there was some music, homemade curtains from several decades ago, a thank you gift of a book, and a good layer of dust, right? That sums up the starting collage in this piece. On the way there, a turn at an old warehouse, some fencing around it, then when that petered out, birches and lichen-covered trees, and rocks & stones to trip over. All worth it, all jumbled together in your memory…
